Had Dinner in the sky, renovated my house.

I didn't make any I think.


3. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?

Probably braaing

Yes, a good friend.


5. What countries did you visit?

None, all travels were local


6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?

Self Confidence, More happiness, love and a new location to live in.


7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I dont have a date in mind, 2012 was an epic year. Epic Fails, Wins, Sadness, Fun


8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Taking ownership of my life


9. What was your biggest failure?

Not being honest with myself about my choices

Not keeping my mouth shut

Trusting the wrong people

Time with my friends

Renovations, Repairs and replacements

So since 2016, I've been mostly in Hijab and its tough. I know why I started wearing it, and it was to be a daily reminder to find better ways of being. Friends and Family, don't always understand. I was so excited that Sham was finally coming to Joburg and thought the best way to tell the story was the way I remembered it, through the food we planned to eat, did eat and wanted to eat but were too full! Nothing quite like leaving your support structure in another province to remind you of who you can rely on in times of need. I wanted Cape Town since my brother got married here in 1993 and begged my dad to let me come to school in the Cape. He was furious that I thought I could look after myself even then. Then it hit me, it took me 20 years to ACTUALLY make it happen!
